Better transit, better Division?

Planners spent the spring studying inner SE Division Street in Portland (from SE 8th to 82nd avenues) and found promising results: Improved bus service – with longer buses, better stations and signal priority – would give riders a quicker and more reliable trip, ease traffic congestion and reduce the problem of riders getting passed by full buses.

Now they need to know what you think!

Take a 3-minute survey open July 21st to September 9th.

  • Compare today’s inner Division bus service with potential improvements.
  • Read frequently asked questions.
  • Here are 5 things you should know.
  • Drop by the TriMet tent at the Division/Clinton Street Fair this Saturday, July 23rd.
  • Talk to staff at an open house anytime between 5 and 7:30 p.m., August 15th at St. Philip Neri, Carvlin Hall, 2408 SE 16th Ave (and Division).

What comes next for the transit project?

The project Steering Committee will meet this fall to consider your input and recommend a route that serves Downtown, Southeast and East Portland, Gresham and Mt. Hood Community College. Later this fall, the committee will recommend general station locations. Stay tuned for more details.

What about Powell Blvd?

Portland, ODOT, TriMet and Metro are working on a strategy to ensure improvements to Powell Blvd move forward. Additionally, ODOT has numerous safety and active transportation enhancements planned for Powell.

Portland Action Plan

The Portland Action Plan outlines a set of actions over the next five years to ensure that housing and economic development opportunities move forward with the future transportation investments. And that these actions and investments have equity in mind: benefiting existing residents and businesses in the corridor.

Portland City Council will act on the plan Wednesday, July 27th at 2 p.m. in Council Chambers, Portland City Hall, 1221 SW 4th Ave, Portland.
