You’re invited to the Foster-Powell Community Garden Work Party and Potluck lunch on Saturday, August 20th!
Your help is needed to get the space to it’s most beautiful again. We’ll be weeding, deadheading, spreading mulch, maintaining structures and eating whatever food our good neighbors bring to share. It’s a great way to meet new neighbors and find out more about our very unique neighborhood garden.
Come out, meet some neighbors, and do a cleanup at Kern Park!

There’s an open house coming up for the Powell-Division Bus Rapid Transit project on Monday, August 15th.
This is the project that was going to put a Bus Rapid Transit line on Powell, along the northern border of Foster-Powell, until it was discovered that they wouldn’t have adequate travel time savings on that route. It is now proposed to stay on Division exclusively. While this realignment makes it less useful for folks traveling to or from our neighborhood, neighborhood residents still have an interest in making sure the project can serve Foster-Powell residents. This means giving them input on station locations (such as making sure they’re in locations that are walkable to from Foster-Powell) and connected with improved pedestrian crossings of Powell.
If you’re interested, this would be a good opportunity to weigh in on these issues.
