We know that natural disasters like earthquakes, wildfires, and storms can disrupt communication and emergency services. In those moments, neighbors may be the most reliable support system. The Know Your Neighbor project facilitates connection and community building through sharing contact information and being ready to help one another if and when emergencies happen.
This project is a simple way to help us connect by exchanging contact information with a few trusted neighbors. By filling out and sharing these cards, we can:
✔ Check on each other in emergencies
✔ Offer quick help when needed
✔ Build stronger community bonds
These small steps might even lead to more fun connections — like block parties, park gatherings, or resource sharing in the future!
Here’s how it works:
Download a Know Your Neighbor card, if you don’t have one already:
with front/back printing
- Collect contact details from your four closest neighbors.
- Add your contact info to the list.
- Make four copies, and give a copy to each person listed.
- Keep your copy where you can easily access it (i.e.: fridge, wallet, go-bag).

Sabemos que los desastres naturales como terremotos, incendios forestales y tormentas pueden interrumpir la comunicación y los servicios de emergencia. En esos momentos, los vecinos pueden ser el sistema de apoyo más confiable.
Este proyecto es una forma sencilla de conectarnos intercambiando información de contacto con algunos vecinos de confianza. Al completar y compartir esta tarjeta, podemos:
✔ Controlarse mutuamente en caso de emergencia
✔ Ofrecer ayuda rápida cuando sea necesario
✔ Construir lazos comunitarios más fuertes

- Complete su información y recopile detalles de sus 4 vecinos más cercanos.
- Haga 4 copias y entregue una a cada persona indicada.
- Mantén el tuyo a mano (en el refrigerador, en la billetera, en el bolso de viaje.)
