Grant Received to Improve Firland Parkway

One of your fellow Foster-Powell neighbors, Aron Goffin, had a fantastic idea to make improvements to the Firland Parkway and, through the support of your all-volunteer Foster-Powell Neighborhood Association, applied for and received a grant from America Walks. See the press release below.

Want to get involved and help out? Contact Aron Goffin and/or the Firland Parkway Path Project Facebook Page.

Do you have an idea for a project, event, or some other activity within Foster-Powell? It is idea-driven people like YOU (and Aron!) who make things happen. The Foster-Powell Neighborhood Association is here to support your efforts. Send us an email with your idea and let’s talk!

Friends of Trees are Coming!

Friend of Trees is coming to the Foster-Powell, Creston-Kenilworth, Mt. Scott-Arleta, and Reed neighborhoods on Saturday 9-February to plant around 130 trees. You can support this project by volunteering. They are in particular need of Tree Planter and Truck Driver volunteers. This is a fantastic opportunity to help bring more beauty to our neighborhood.

Help plant many dozens of large-stock trees along the streets and in yards of the following SE Portland neighborhoods: Foster-Powell, Creston-Kenilworth, Mt Scott-Arleta, and Reed. Following the planting there is a warm potluck lunch for all volunteers provided by the hosting neighborhood groups — it’s a small way we say “thank you” for all your hard work!

Assemble by 8:45a and work will take place from 9:00a – 1:00p

Look for the “Friends of Trees” signs as you get close!
Reminder: be there by 8:45a!
