Next General Meeting: Monday, May 13

Board elections will be held at the May general meeting! The following positions are open:

- Co-Chair

Other positions are currently filled but neighborhood association members can be nominated for any position.

In order to qualify for Board service, members must:

- Have attended at least 3 general or board meetings in the past 12 months
- Be a member of the neighborhood association (have signed in at the meeting(s) you attended)

Hope to see you there! We meet at 6:30pm at Bar Carlo, 6433 SE Foster. Kids are welcome until 8:00.

Foster Corridor Investment Strategy Open House #3 – February 28 at 6:00pm

Meeting Purpose:         
This is the second workshop to review three design alternatives for Laurelwood Park. Your opinion and comments are needed to select the preferred concept design for the park’s enhancement. An On-Line survey will be launched following to meeting to obtain additional community input.

Project Background:     
Foster Green is facilitating a vision and Master Plan for Laurelwood Park. The project will engage the community to define their desires for park enhancements. The project includes public engagement, project design, plan document, and implementation strategy. Foster Green will work with the City to formally adopt the final plan. Foster Green EcoDistrict is collaborating with the City of Portland Bureau of Parks and Recreation, the Mt Scott-Arleta Neighborhood Association, and the Foster Powell Neighborhood Association.

PBOT requests $2.24 million for Foster Rd safety improvements

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) has submitted a grant application to the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for safety improvements to Foster Road:

“The SE Foster Road Safety and Sidewalk Enhancement Project will design and construct elements of the Foster Road Transportation and Streetscape Plan (adopted in 2003 and updated in 2013) along SE Foster Road between SE 50th Ave and SE 90th Ave. It will primarily focus on pedestrian and bicycle crossing safety and access to transit, followed by streetscape improvements in the priority Districts identified in the Plan. Improvements will include:• Pedestrian safety crossing improvements along the corridor • Bus Stop Improvements. (e.g. seating, shelters, ADA landing pads) at multiple locations along the corridor, to be determined in coordination with TriMet • Signal synchronization equipment upgrades • Bike parking, facilities and crossing improvements along SE Foster.”

Foster Road Cross Section Draft Alternatives

The Foster Road Cross Section Draft Alternatives document was the starting point for discussion at the November 15, 2012, meeting of the Foster Streetscape Plan Stakeholder Advisory Committee. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, December 13 at 6:00 PM at SE Works, 7916 SE Foster Road, Suite 104.

Hello Friends and Neighbors: Please take five minutes to complete this quick on-line survey to record your ideas and wishes for the Laurelwood Park Vision and Master Plan.

The Foster Green EcoDistrict is hosting and facilitating a vision and master plan for Laurelwood Park, located at Holgate and Foster. The project includes community engagement surveys that will lead to two conceptual plan alternatives. The community will be engaged to decide on a preferred concept for the park. The final plan will be submitted to the City for formal adoption. The Laurelwood Park Vision and Master plan complements other capital improvement efforts in the corridor. The first Community Workshop took place Thursday Dec 6th at Bar Carlo.
