Though it isn’t officially summer yet, it certainly feels like it with the warm, dry weather we’ve been having. With the nicer weather comes lots of events to choose from. We have two coming up on Saturday 16-June.

Saturday, June 16th 10AM – 2PM
11th Annual Foster-Powell Garden Tour
Tour the gardens of Foster-Powell residents! See what is possible and gain inspiration. You can pick up a copy of the map from either the Holgate Library or the Foster-Powell Community Garden. We will also be posting a link to the map here once it is complete.

Saturday, June 16th 9AM – 1PM
Paint the Town Green
Meet at Essex Park, 7730 SE Center St (map)
Kink 101.9 FM, Solve, Metro Graffiti Program, South East Uplift and Foster-Powell Neighborhood Association invite you to help make the neighborhood even more beautiful. We will meet at Essex Park for breakfast snacks and a quick training then start the clean-up on 82nd and SE Powell Blvd (route map). In teams we will work our way south on both sides of 82nd to pick up trash and remove graffiti. At the end of the clean-up lunch will be provided at a central location for all of the participating neighborhoods.

Join us at our annual clean-up at Arleta Elementary on Saturday, May 2 from 9am-2:30pm! Bring your unwanted items and let us take them off of your hands! It’s also our biggest fundraiser of the year and allows us to hold events like the Foster-Powell Garden Tour, National Night Out, and others – win-win! See the flyers below for more information.

Foster-Powell & Mt. Scott-Arleta Neighborhood Cleanup is May 3!

Your neighborhood cleanup is coming! Saturday, May 3, from 9:00am to 2:30pm. Bring your bulky waste, mattresses, furniture, scrap wood, tires, bikes and bike parts, block foam, etc. and help support your neighborhood association at the same time! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and proceeds go to support our annual National Night Out party at Kern Park, the Movie in the Park at Essex Park (this year – “Goonies!”), and various other community-fostering events throughout the year.

FPNA meetings are 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and are always the second Monday of the month.
